This resource introduces Junior Cycle students to the topic of gender in a respectful, inclusive, and age-appropriate way. It covers key concepts such as gender stereotypes, gender identity, gender expression, and what it means to be transgender. Designed in line with HSE guidance and SPHE curriculum aims, the lesson encourages open discussion and reflection while promoting understanding and empathy.
While the powerpoint aligns with HSE lessons from their Relationships and Sexuality 1 unit, there may be additional slides created by myself to suit my own classes. The powerpoint is fully editable in Microsoft for ease of re-phrasing/deleting slides.
The pack includes a structured lesson plan and a PowerPoint presentation with clear teacher notes to support effective, confident delivery. These notes guide discussion, provide definitions, and help navigate sensitive questions with care.
